Be Watchful and Stay Alert

Sleep in itself is a call of nature and medically, one is advised to have an average of eight hours of sleep in a day. This helps to strengthen the body for the activities of the day. In the realm of the physical, sleep is inevitable; doing without it could lead to insanity. However, do you know that sleep is not permitted in the realm of the spirit? A little slumber could be fatal. Quite a number of people are in this mess.

A couple of years back I met a tall and intelligent young man who was deformed. In my curiosity, I asked him what caused it. His response shocked me. He said “I slept normal but woke up deformed”. That kept me thinking and baffled for several days. He lost his original physical image.

But when men slept, the enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

                                                                           Matthew 13:25

... Be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). In the realm of the spirit, indolence or slumbering is not tolerated.

Therefore there is no room for sleep. Families, marriages and ministries are being destroyed because men have slept. No one is praying as they ought to. Reading and studying of the bible has gone down as well as godliness; only a few are watchful. However, God’s desire is that we should be vigilant to prevent the onslaughts of the devil. It is never too late to stay awake spiritually. Using the words of Jesus “what I say unto you I say unto all, watch”. It is my prayer that we shall not experience any form of deformity either physically or spiritually in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Be watchful and stay alert!

Keep Your Hope Alive; Tomorrow is Guaranteed.

Life is amazing and exciting when we look forward to the hope of joy in anticipation of Glory, Peace and Fulfilment. When we are confident of tomorrow in God, we are not troubled about the situation at present rather we look forward to the hope of glory that is set before us.

We are covered because thousands may fall at our side, ten thousand at our right hand but it will not befall us. That is the promise of God for His children. Thank God I belong to Jesus! It pays to serve Jesus I speak from my heart. As we do our best, let us leave the rest to Him. Hmmmmn, let not your heart be troubled because He said "cast your burdens, even cares on me because I care for you", and He will give you peace; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over beyond your fears. Of a truth our cup runs over with His unfailing love and mercy.

I believe you will see the glory of God. Great glory! Glory without measure: Glory everlasting; Glorious glory. It is great putting our hope in God, for in Him we have a glorious future. Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard neither has it entered man’s heart what God has for you. He said “I alone know the plan I have towards you, plans of good and not of evil, to bring you to that expected end. Rest in God; put your hope in He who holds tomorrow. God cares for you affectionately. This piece is for you.

There Is a Price to Pay

It is no news that Pastor Adeboye was born into a poor family. So pathetic was their state that even the poor called them poor. Perhaps nothing good was expected from them. Little did the world know that God had a plan for Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Today he is a respected minister of God all over the world and an elder states man in Nigeria and beyond, but he paid a price. Like Peter said “see, we have left all and followed You” (Mark 10:28). Pastor Adeboye left all. He left his doctorate degree, left his entitlements as a lecturer in the university; he left his income and also sacrificed his comfort to follow God. It was not an easy decision but he made the decision. Have you left all?

A man once said he thought he had also left all until he had an experience. He said he visited a friend and at evening they heard that thieves were in the neighbourhood. He stood up, took one of his precious valuables and tried to look for where to hide it for about thirty minutes, only for him to be told that the thieves had left. Then the Lord said to him “you have not left all. A man that has left all will not be moved”. Hmmn!

What is that thing you cannot let go without being troubled or having sleepless nights? It may mean that you have not left all. To be a profitable instrument in God’s hands depends on the degree of submissiveness to His will. Can you pay the Price? Pastor Enoch Adeboye left his all, we can do same only if we are humble enough to leave all for Him to handle. My prayer is that we shall be humble enough to give our all to God in Jesus’ name. SHALOM.

Therefore, humble yourselves (lower yourselves in your own estimation) under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,

Casting the whole of your cares (all your anxieties, worries and concerns, once and for all) on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
